SOIL INSTRUMENTS Ltd has emerged as one of the leading designers and manufacturers of a broad range of high quality Geotechnical Instruments. In particular, SOILS’s, through innovation and experience, has developed a line of vibrating wire sensors unsurpassed anywhere in the world. These highly reliable devices have contributed in no small way to the growing worldwide acceptance of vibrating wire technology as the best for geotechnical applications.

For over 45 years SOIL’s has been a world leader in the manufacture of geotechnical and structural monitoring instrumentation. Their equipment has been used to monitor construction projects such as dams, tunnels, deep excavations, roads and railways as well as landslides in nearly every country around the world.
SOIL’s strive to continuously develop groundbreaking, innovative products that are able to meet the challenge of the demanding environments in which we work.
Some examples include:

• MEMS-based digital inclinometer systems
• Vibrating wire and solid state Piezometers, Pressure and  Load cells
• Tilt sensors
• Wireless sensor systems
• Automatic data acquisition systems
• Data presentation software
• GPRS enabled data-loggers and gateways

In 2009 Soil Instruments launched its new WiSe system. This system is capable of wirelessly reading any of our sensors. Data can be stored at each sensor point and transmitted across a robust, self healing, adaptive wireless mesh network for logging, off site communication and analysis.
Soil’s manufactures a complete line of geotechnical instruments including extensometers, piezometers, strain gages, crackmeters, jointmeters, load cells, settlement sensors, pressure cells, inclinometers and data-loggers amongst others. The products section of the Soil’s web site provides a brief description of standard product lines. Individual brochures with additional information and complete product details are also available. If these products do not meet your needs, members of our experienced staff are ready to work with you to produce custom instrumentation for special applications.
